Beijing: US Must End Policy of China’s Containment
The United States must stop its policy of containment and pressure against China, and not create new obstacles to bilateral relations, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
"The return of Sino-US relations to the track of stable development meets not only the interests of China and the United States but also the general expectations of the international community. The American side should stop its efforts to contain and suppress China, and not create new obstacles in relations between the two countries," Wang said according to a news release uploaded to the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s website, TASS reported.
Wang also called on the United States to abandon the practice of restricting export and investment in trading and economic relations between the two countries.
He noted that the US actions "seriously violate the rules of free trade and cause major damage to the legitimate rights and interests of China".
On October 7, the United States blacklisted 31 Chinese companies, including the memory chip maker YMTC, as potential suspects in the export of US sensitive technologies.
