A serious public health crisis persists in the Democratic People’s Republic of

Korea, but not a shadow of disappointment and despair can be found. To defend the lives and safety of the people, officials of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea and government organs and medics of the Korean People’s Army are going among them, vehicles carrying foodstuffs and medicines are running to every nook and cranny of the country, medical personnel are visiting the people regularly, and neighbourhood unit heads and itinerary service teams are calling on the residents under their charge with essential consumer goods. All the people are helping and caring for others and overcoming the challenge and difficulties on the strength of virtue and human feeling.

The service personnel in the military medical sector of the Korean People’s Army held a meeting to pledge themselves to perform their assigned duty in the fight to control the prevailing health crisis in the capital city of Pyongyang of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and urgently launched into the battle for the transport and supply of medicines on the special order of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea which expects them to play a leading role in defending national security and the people’s lives in the rigorous situation.

-Soldiers Urgently Committed to the Supply of Medicines

In mid-May a strong contingent of medical personnel in the military medical sector of the Korean People’s Army has been urgently committed to the battle for the supply of medicines and medical treatment, aimed at tiding over the epidemic crisis in Pyongyang, the capital city of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. With a determination to defend the security of the capital city, they are conducting a 24-hour service to provide the medicines from the state to the capital’s citizens.

-Fresh Vegetables Are Supplied to Families

In line with the switchover of the national epidemic prevention work into the top-level emergency anti-epidemic system, the city of Chongjin in North Hamgyong Province in a northern part of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is supplying in time fresh vegetables from the Jungphyong Vegetable Greenhouse Farm so that the local people would not feel inconvenience in their dietary life.

-Students Committed to Nationwide Intensive Medical Checkup

As the national epidemic prevention system in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has been switched over to the top-level emergency anti-epidemic system, students of medical schools are committed to the intensive medical checkup conducted across the country.
