Lebanon to face deep changes after elections: Expert
An expert on the region said that Lebanon’s future elections can deeply change the equations in the country.
Mosayeb Naimi, an expert on the region, said in an exclusive interview with ILNA that in reality, Lebanon’s crisis is a long-term problem that has intensified and deepened in recent years.
Referring to Lebanon’s political and economic situation ahead of the country’s parliament election, he said, “Most of Lebanon’s politicians understood that they aren’t popular among the people so they leave the political scene.”
He said that those who withdraw from the political scene this way will be present behind the scene of the political and economic equations in the country.
“Lebanon’s future elections will be very sensitive and it can deeply change the equations,” the expert added.
He concluded that the traditional factions in Lebanon are supported by the Saudis, the Emiratis and the west but the question is that the same factions failed to control the situation in recent years.
