We are cooperating with foreign police forces to arrest heads of smuggling bands: Zahedian tells ILNA
Top Law Enforcement commander says, Iran is cooperating with other countries to counter narcotics' smuggling.
"Mohammad Masoud Zahedian", anti-narcotics Commander in chief of Iranian Law Enforcement Forces in his interview with ILNA, referring to a joint operation between Iranian police and other countries for arresting international smugglers, told: "Narcotics like Cocaine are being produced outside the country and with entering Iranian borders are posing serious threats for our youth. That's why we are focused on fighting their smugglings."
He continued: "The concern is led to Iranian police intelligence cooperation with one of the Persian Gulf countries police forces. And through our collaboration, we were able to arrest a Bolivian woman, who was intending to transfer 7.5 kilograms of Cocaine through Tehran’s international airport."
Iranian police top commander, also added: "The arrest is announced to Bolivian Embassy through Iranian Foreign Ministry and the matter is being followed."
Pointing to increase in cooperation with neighboring countries police forces, Zahedian said: "Our goal in such cooperation is to attack leaders of the smugglers and major bands of narcotics smuggling in the region. These include those who are smuggling narcotics out of the country or those who try to bring them inside."
"fortunately in this field, all Persian golf countries have good cooperation with us", he underlined.
