Speaker: Iran has turned into influential actor
Iran's new Parliament Speaker said in his first speech that the state has continued its path at a stronger and more strategic level than before, so that today, as an important regional power, it has become an influential actor in the international arena.
Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said on Sunday: "The 11th round of parliament starting its work while the Islamic Republic is facing a series of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats."
"It is an undeniable fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran has resisted against all enemies in the military, political, economic, international, security, and cultural areas," he added.
Iran's Parliament Speaker noted "The intense hostility of the domineering system with all its media, economic, political and intelligence tools, well indicates that today the Islamic Revolution has been able to be the most important rival for the global capitalist system."
Qalibaf stated: "On the other hand, the growing regional power of Iran has led to the formation of strategic depth and geopolitical influence, and it is a good opportunity to make the Islamic Republic a symbol of resistance against the arrogant powers."
Emphasizing on extraversion and interaction with other countries in the world, he added: "The Parliament is committed to following the path of Martyr Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani, supporting the resistance forces, and accompanying the oppressed people of Palestine, Yemen and other resistance nations in the region."
Scientific power, technological progress provided necessary ground for progress
The Speaker of the Parliament said "The scientific power and technological progress in the country in the hands of the elites has provided the necessary ground for any progress. The vast body of voluntary forces across the country is a unique opportunity that can overcome various failures if it is coherent and managed in a way that is based on the revolutionary model of action."
He considered the existence of a range of faithful and revolutionary youth as an invaluable opportunity and said: "These young people, with their faithful endurance, have become the driving force of this turbulent ship, and besides these cases, young and capable Iranian human capital and great God-given wealth and abundant natural resources are among other capacities and opportunities that can be the basis for the formation of a great surge in various fields.
On Thursday, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf became the Speaker of the Iranian parliament with 230 votes out of a total of 267 votes.
