Spokesman: Next JCPOA joint commission, regular meeting
Foreign Ministry spokesman Sayed Abbas Mousavi said the upcoming meeting of the JCPOA joint commission in Vienna is a normal meeting and has nothing to do with the dispute settlement mechanism.
Seyyed Abbas Mousavi told reporters Monday evening: "The meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, March 2 at the level of deputy ministers and political managers, is the regular and periodic meeting of the Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)."
He stressed that the meeting had nothing to do with the dispute settlement mechanism and was a regular quarterly meeting of the joint commission.
The meeting will be held by the representatives of the JCPOA remaining countries and the EU representative in Vienna, Austria.
The meeting of the Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will be held less than a week after the Dutch and Austrian Foreign Ministers visited Iran.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, since May 2019 one year after US withdrawal from JCPOA, has gradually scaled back its commitments toward JCPOA.
However, Iran’s Foreign Minister said on Feb.15 that Tehran is prepared to slow down or reverse the measures it has taken towards JCPOA commensurate based on what Europe does.
"We have said that we are prepared to slow down or reverse these measures commensurate with what Europe does," Mohammad Javad Zarif told the reporters on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference on February 14 while referring to Iran’s steps in reducing nuclear obligations under the Iran Nuclear Deal.
