Attacks on Saudi Aramco made U.S happy; Iranian analyst

“The fact is that Saudi Arabia and the US are allies, but on the other hand, the US has been competing with Riyadh since exporting oil.”

The Pentagon said on Friday that the United States will deploy additional troops and military equipment to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to beef up security, as President Donald Trump has at least for now decided against any immediate military attacks in response to those on the Saudi oil industry.

“Any action to support Saudi Arabia will cost the United States. By Considering Netanyahu’s defeat in election as well as the upcoming US election, we can say that Washington is not currently seeking military action,” fereydoun asadi said.

“Trump is reluctant to take action to influence the outcome of the 2020 US election,” Iranian analyst added.

Saudi Aramco has emerged from attacks on its oil facilities “stronger than ever”, Chief Executive Amin Nasser told employees in a message, adding that full oil production would resume by the end of this month.

The Sept. 14 attacks on the Abqaiq and Khurais plants, some of the kingdom’s biggest, caused raging fires and significant damage that halved the crude output of the world’s top oil exporter, by shutting down 5.7 million barrels per day of production.

Yemen’s Houthi group claimed responsibility for the attacks but a U.S. official claimed they originated from southwestern Iran. Tehran has denied any involvement in the attacks.
