EU foreign policy chief and foreign ministers of three European members of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in a statement on Tuesday called on Iran to return to the permissible ceiling of enriched uranium stockpile under the nuclear deal.

The statement expressed concern over Iran's move to break stockpile limits of 300 kilograms of enriched uranium, saying that the EU has repeatedly announced that its will remain committed to the deal provided that Iran fully sticks to the deal.

It also criticized Iran's decision to question major instrument of non-proliferation treaty, urging Iran to change mind and avoid adopting approaches undermining JCPOA.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) which is monitoring Iran's commitments under the deal on Monday confirmed Iran's breaking of uranium stockpile limits set by the 2015 nuclear deal.

The agency announced in a statement that director general of Yukiya Amano has notified board of governors that Iran's enriched uranium stockpile has exceeded permissible level set by the 2015 deal.
