Zarif: US economic terrorism targets innocent people
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message once again referred to US economic terrorism as targeting innocent people.
"#EconomicTerrorism against Iran targets innocent civilians. Like this little boy, whose heartbroken mother can't get him prosthetic legs as he grows. They're sanctioned," Zarif wrote in his Twitter account.
He added: "This is @realDonaldTrump's "economic war". And war and talks—with or without preconditions—don't go together."
Earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo claimed that the US is ready to hold negotiations with Iran with no preconditions.
According to the US media 'Associated Press', Pompeo made the remarks Sunday in a meeting with his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis.
Although Switzerland as Foreign Interests Section of the US had mediated between the two countries, it is unclear whether Pompeo is seeking further assistance from Switzerland to protect American citizens arrested in Iran.
During his visits to four European states, Pompeo is trying to assure them that Trump administration is not after war.
This is while, Pompeo earlier mentioned 12 preconditions for holding talks with Iran.
