Iranian MPs call on government to pursue nations' rights over nuclear deal
Iranian lawmakers in a statement called on government to pursue nations' rights on negotiations between Tehran and Europe over nuclear deal.
The statement said there is a serious doubt over European practical resolution about the agreement given previous experiences, so Iranian government should seriously pursue nations’ rights and counter-measures in implementing the agreement.
Iranian lawmakers also called for balance in Iran’s level of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) proportionate with the current circumstances.
The statement concluded that Iranian government has been verifying European performance concerning the deal after the US unilaterally dropped the agreement.
The future of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA ) was seriously jeopardized when one of the parties to the multilateral agreement -- namely the United States -- decided to abrogate the agreement unilaterally, dishonouring its commitments and obligations under the accord.
The remaining signatory states have scrambled to salvage the accord, but the US administration's hostility with regards to JCPOA, and re-imposition of sanctions against Iran, have put a dark cloud over the future of the agreement.
