Zarif: Iran Deal stressed in Shanghai summit
Iran's use of the economic gains and implementation of the commitments of Russia, China and the European signatories of Iran Deal were emphasized in Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, said Iranian minister of foreign affairs.
'President Hassan Rouhani announced Iran's views and Iran Deal was supported as an international agreement,' Mohammad Javad Zarif told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
Zarif also said that the conference provided President Rouhani with an opportunity to have meetings with his Chinese and Russian counterparts, whose countries are among the signatories of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as Iran Deal.
He added that the commitments of the Chinese and the Russians were discussed in the meetings to make sure that Iran will fully enjoy the economic benefits of the JCPOA, which was obviously seen in the remarks of the Chinese and Russian presidents.
Zarif was a member of a high ranking Iranian delegation headed by President Rouhani who attended Shnaghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in China on June 10. Iran is an observer member of the SCO.
President Rouhani addressed the summit and stressed that the JCPOA, as an internationally recognized agreement, should be wholly respected by its signatories, and Iran should enjoy the economic benefits of the deal.
