Berlin, Paris to stay in Iran Deal if US leaves
German Minister for Foreign Affairs Heiko Maas and his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian have promised to comply with Iran nuclear deal if US walks away, Reuters reported.
“We don’t think there is any justifiable reason to pull out of this agreement and we continue to make the case for it to our American friends,” Maas was quoted as saying in a joint press conference with Le Drian.
“We’ll deal with the (US) decision but like Jean-Yves said, we want to adhere to this agreement,” he added.
This is while, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying urged all parties to remain committed with Iran nuclear deal.
JCPOA is preserving non-proliferation, security and stability in the Middle East, she said.
US President Donald Trump will announce his decision on Iran nuclear deal Tuesday night.
The US administration has done a great deal during past year to kill Iran nuclear deal.
Trump was initially expected to announce his decision regarding suspending sanctions against Iran and continuing the implementation of the JCPOA on May 12.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has already confirmed eleven times Iran's commitment to the landmark July 2015 international deal.
