French foreign minister on way to Tehran
French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian is due to arrive in the Iranian capital late on Sunday.
During his two-day stay in Tehran, Le Drian is scheduled to hold talks with senior Iranian officials including President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Sunday.
The talks will focus on the international, regional and bilateral questions.
Earlier, the French Embassy in Tehran had reported that Le Drian would be in the Iranian capital on Monday (March 5) to open the 'Louvre in Tehran' exhibition.
According to reports, President-Director of the Louvre Jean-Luc Martinez will be also present in the exhibition to be held in National Museum of Iran.
In 2017, France was the second largest trade partner for Iran after Italy.
