Head of the Plan and Budget Organization Mohammad-Baqer Nobakht says next year budget will be up 4.37 percent in terms of resources, pegged at 3.85 billion.

Addressing the Iranian lawmakers at the parliament MPs, Nobakht said taxes rose in the government proposed bill for the next year budget and kept pace with the inflation rate.

He said government has also put the estimated price for oil at 55 dollars per barrel for next year.

Nobakht said with the implementation of nine programs, a total 1,032,000 jobs is expected to be created by the investment of 734 billion rials.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Nobakht said the government's proposed budget bill put the economic growth rate at six percent, investment growth at 11.2 percent and inflation rate in one digit and unemployment rate at least one unit percent less.

The Iranian lawmakers started their deliberations on the proposed budget bill for the next Iranian calendar year (beginning on March 21, 2018) for two weeks as of today, Jan 28.

The bill was submitted to the parliament by President Hassan Rouhani on December 10 and the lawmakers discussed it in one of the subcommittees of the parliament for 25 days.

When approved by the parliament, the budget bill will be sent to the Guardian Council, whose approval is needed for all the bills to be signed into laws.
