Date of Macron visit not fixed: Iran president aide
The date for French President Emmanuel Macron's visit has not been agreed, said an official in Iranian President's Office on Friday.
'Mr. Macron's visit is on the agenda but the date has not been decided,' Deputy Chief of Staff of Iran's Presidential Office Takht-e Ravanchi saiي.
The date for French president's visit will be fixed during the ongoing negotiations between the two countries.
He rejected the rumors that Macron has cancelled his visit to Iran because of recent unrests in a few cities.
Commenting on the unrests, Ravanchi said that rioters and their foreign sponsors misused the economic problems to destabilize the country.
The official referred to the huge turnout of people in demonstrations held across the country against the riots and said it was people's reaction to US President Donald Trump and Zionist regime Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's support for rioters.
After some Iranians took to the streets to protest against unemployment and high prices last week, the protests turned violent in some cases due to the provocation of certain foreign states.
Certain elements penetrated the lines of protestors to drive the peaceful protests towards violence. The US president has overtly supported the rioters in several tweets.
