I Do whatever I can to support Rouhani; Aref tells ILNA
Head of Parliament Hope Fraction says, reformists' councils are evaluating local election candidate for proposing a list.
"Mohammad Reza Aref", in his interview with ILNA, regarding latest attempts in preparing reformists’ list for attending fifth City and Villages Council Election told that for choosing candidates we set up criteria and are now evaluating qualified registrants according to those criteria.
"We hope we would be able to shrink down our current 800 person list to a 200 list. Later we will put further precise evaluations on the list" he emphasized.
According to Aref, honesty and having appropriate ability and characteristics is among the most important benchmark criteria that the Supreme Reformist Policymaking Council would look for in its reviews and analysis.
"Afterwards, we are going to look for the candidates’ speciality and expertise in urban management and city council’s need" he underlined.
Top legislative official also added: "We try our best to form a city council which is expert and experienced. we prioritize women and youth presence. Choosing only 21 out of a 200 person list is going to be pretty complicated task in front of us."
Expressing concern over recent wave of disqualifications in cities outside capital told: "Unfortunately it seems, in some cases, personal views and political inclinations were exerted in evaluation process."
Head of Hope Fraction also announced formation of special assemblies in cities throughout the country to further help President "Hassan Rouhani"’s campaign and expressed hope to continue the path of supporting him till the end of the road.
Regarding whether he would give speech in support of president Rouhani in his presidential campaign, Aref told that he would take any step necessary to support Rouhani's candidacy.
