Fuel consumption raise is indicating economic growth; Riahi tells ILNA

Iranian top oil official says, the country's fuel consumption was boosted.

"Mansour Riahi", Head of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), in his interview with ILNA, referring to gasoline consumption hike in the country, told: "Since 1.3 million vehicles joined the country’s transportation cycle, Gasoline consumption also boosted 6.2%."

Pointing to the country’s 8% growth rate in the country, he added: "increase in gasoline consumption is indicating that the economic cycle is facilitated and it is more dynamic."

Riahi, pointing to the gasoline consumption statistics in new Year’s Holidays added: "In the first phase of the holidays and trips the gasoline consumption reached 93 million liters and in the second phase this amount dropped to 85.7 million liters."

According to Riahi, the total amount of the consumption is showing a 5.5% increase.

"The boost was conspicuous in rail, road and air transportation sections. This fact is indicating that every time we had boost in consumption, we witnessed growth in tourism industry" he emphasized.
