We are discussing lifting Twitter's filtering; Vaezi tells ILNA
Iran's Information and Communication Minister criticized attacks on country's president.
"Mahmoud Vaezi", Iran’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology in his interview with ILNA, answeing a question, whether the government has any plan for providing accesses to numerous banned and blocked social networking websites, many of which are used by active cabinet and political figures, told: "This cabinet agrees with lifting the bans on the websites and unblocking them and considers them informative networks. Previous government is responsible for placing them."
"Lifting the ban and providing access to these websites cannot be authorized by the government and there’s a special cybercrime investigation subgroup at the Cyberpolice, which should put the issue on its agenda and there are discussions going on" he added.
Top Information and Communication official considering recent "Mahmoud AhmadiNejad" former president’s remarks about the current cabinet, called them destructive and hostile and expressed concern over campaign promises turning into attacking candidates’ personalities.
According to Vaezi, there seems to be a consensus in attacking President "Hassan Rouhani" and further pressuring him.
"Our people understand these approaches and would respond to them at the time of the election" he underlined.
