Zarif, Lavrov voiced readiness for implementation of recent agreements
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a telephone conversation late Tuesday condoled his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov over the terrorist incident in St. Petersburg metro in which scores of people were killed or injured.
Zarif expressed solidarity with the bereaved families of the victims.
In their conversation, both sides also voiced readiness for implementation of the agreements recently reached between the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
Heading a high-ranking delegation, President Rouhani held talks with Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on his two-day official visit to Russia on March 27-28.
They also signed several documents in various judiciary, tourism, economic and consular fields during the visit.
An explosion near a subway station in St. Petersburg killed 14 and wounded 50 people on Monday afternoon. The train was pulling out of the Sennaya Square Station in Russia's second-biggest city.
