Discouraging citizens from voting marks the end of democracy; Rouhani

Iranian president announced government's goal in creating more 700 thousands jobs in the year ahead.

President "Hassan Rouhani", told a meeting of state directors and managers of organs on the occasion of Iranian New Year and advent of Nowruz that "prompting job-generating production is a religious and national duty and indicate showing respect for the revolution."

Speaking on Monday in Tehran he announced his government's aim in creating over 700,000 jobs in the new year.

President of Islamic Republic of Iran also congratulated the Iranian New Year and continued: "Employment is one the most important economic, social and security-building issues of the country and if people feel that employment is on the right track, peace and hope will spead in the society."

Rouhani referred to the previous government efforts for creating jobs and underlined the previous figures in generating 700,000 jobs. "But to increase these numbers, we need to boost attempts with regard to the accumulated workforce looking for jobs".

On the government's efforts and achievements in economic fields, such as lowering inflation rate, boosting job creation, and attarcting foreign investment, he said: "Our goal in the JCPOA was to remove the shadow of threats from the country and break the chains of unjust and imposed sanction on Iran."

He then mentioned the attempts made in the field of Health and treatment and told: "Considerable developments in the field of health and treatment, increasing the number of hispital beds in defferent parts of the country, facilitating access to various kinds of medicine and implementing the healthcare insurance plan are the achievements of the Government of Prudence and Hope."

According to Rouhani, "for the first time in 12 years, we were able to achieve the goals of our 20-year outlook document, which was estimated 8 percent growth."

Self-sufficiency in wheat production and food provision and increase in oil, natural gas and oil condensates were moves that according to top Iranian official was considered in compliance with the policies of Resistive Economy.

Dr. Rouhani told: "We need to tell people the truth and create healthy, clear and competitive condition for them to be able to choose the best option."

He went on to say: "In the coming presidential election, what's significant is masimising people's participation and encouraging everybody to vote."

Describing elections as the key to republicanism and democracy and a principle for legitimacy, he underlined: “The Islamic Republic of Iran relies on people's votes and elections and our country's long term plans and goals will be achieved through this process."
