Rouhani's visit, a turning point in Iran and Russia cooperations; Ghassemi tells ILNA
Iran Foreign Ministry Spokesman called the president's visit to Moscow a turning point in the two country's relations.
According to “Bahram Ghasemi”, Foreign Ministry spokesman, Iran hopes that president Hassan Rouhani’s visit to Moscow would become a turning point in the two countries’ relations in diverse grounds which primarily includes economic, trade and industrial ties.
He called the visit, first of such trip by a top Iranian official and told that it has been set by official invitation from “Veladimir Putin”, Russian Federation president.
Adding that so far, the two side's top officials, have met 8 times during variety of summits and official gatherings, Iranian diplomat told that president Rouhani was invited several months ago and in this respect an invitation letter was sent, which led to an appointment to be set on 27th and 28th of March.
Russia maintains calling the country not only Iran’s neighbor but also as a regional and international power, which has effective capabilities and influence, he added.
“The two have been able to keep close ties on emerging issues in the region like the presence of terroristic groups in Middle East and instabilities and insecurities that have resulted from the growth of extremist groups” he stressed.
Iran’s top Foreign Ministry official also continued that the two presidents are scheduled to hold talks regarding regional issues, primarily addressing the Syrian crises, ways to end the ongoing conflicts and fighting against unstabilizing actions and terrorism.
“The region and the world would benefit from boosting ties between the two” he emphasized.
At the end Ghassemi noted that Iran and Russia are going to sign more than 10 Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) on legal and judicial, road and urban development, Information Technology and communication, Energy, Standards and Sport during the official visit.
“Each of which can open doors to further effective ties and collaboration to get underway” he added.
