Iran, Russia highlight importance of Syria talks
Iran and Russia, the two allies to Syria, on Thursday discussed conditions in Syria and said Syrian talks in Astana, held on the initiative of Tehran, Moscow and Ankara, are significant.
In a video conference, Iranian and Russian parliamentary delegations, also discussed various aspects of Iran-Russia cooperation with Syria to fight terrorism and efforts to find a diplomatic solution to the crisis.
Chairman of the Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Ala’eddin Boroujerdi, and two MPs, Morteza Safari Natanzi, and Ramezanali Sobhanifar, represented Iran and the chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federation Council (upper house) of the Russian State Duma, Senator Konstantin Kosachev, Upper House MP and the head of Russian parliamentary group of Iran-Russia friendship, Igor Morozov, and the First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Committee for International Affairs, Vladimir Dzhabarov, represented Russian in the video conference.
