Taliban not let easy recruitment of ISIS in Pakistan; Indian political expert tells ILNA
Indian political expert talks about the recent surge of ISIS terrorists in the region.
“Reza Alaee”, Indian political expert in an interview with ILNA correspondent, regarding the status of ISIS activities in Pakistan said: “We have to consider that Pakistan's society is multilayered and complex, hence ISIS presence in this region and the model of their activities are totally different from Western Asia. Although we shouldn’t rule out hidden factors like intelligence services’ interest in destabilizing the region and the subcontinent as a whole.”
“A major topic in this area is the origins of ISIS, and many consider members of other terroristic groups who have separated from these organizations as the core of ISIS in this region” he added.
The political expert has mentioned “Lashkar-e-Jhangvi”, as the first group as such with an anti-Shia rhetoric. He reminded that the group had finally pledge oath of allegiances to ISIS.
He counted some of the many schools of thought and ideologies in the region like Vahabism, Sunnis and Shia and talked about Vahhabies’ beliefs in desecrating shrines and sacred places and mentioned recent terroristic operation in “Send” province which has led to about 100 casualties. “ISIS has claimed responsibility for the act” he added.
“After the transfer of the terrorists from Iraq and Syria to Afghanistan and Western Asia, we’re hearing about the establishment of “Khorasan Province” in the region. What is important to note is the fact that religious and ethnic society of Afghanistan and Pakistan would not accept such terroristic elements. Another point is that the presence of Taliban as it's traditional region has prevented easy recruitment of these terroristic groups in the area, but the fact shouldn’t let us ignore the fight against extremism and terrorism.” Pakistan expert told ILNA.
