Lebanon calls for promotion of political and economic relations with Iran
Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri called for promotion of political, economic, trade and cultural relations with Iran as a big and strong country in the region which possesses high potential and capabilities.
In a meeting with the visiting Iranian parliamentary delegation headed by the chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Allaeddin Boroujerdi Saturday night, he stressed that ties between the two countries should go beyond the present level.
As the prime minister, he said, he will try to boost and expand friendly cooperation between the two countries especially in the area of economy and trade.
He said he will ask those ministers in his cabinet who are in charge of economic affairs in the country to work for removal of obstacles on mutual relations.
He said while 1,700 million Muslims worldwide represent the true shining notions preached by the Holy Islam, a bunch of terrorists across some of the Islamic countries like Syria are tarnishing the image of Islam paving the way for enemies.
Stressing that Muslims have too much in common as compared with the little they differ on, Hariri said all should cast aside differences and focus on common interests and ideals instead.
He believed cooperation between Islamic countries could turn them into a big economic power creating a better situation for them in the present world.
Hariri also said that the Zionist regime policies including the ones to support terrorists, sowing discord among Arab nations, creating divisions within the Islamic world and Palestinian groups serves its own interests.
