Iran rebuked French UN envoy remarks
The Spokesman of Iran’s Foreign Ministry reacted to the recent words of French UN envoy, Delattre, who has accused Iran of supporting terrorism in the region.
“This kind of discourse is prejudiced, and in contrast with the positions held by other French officials,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi, in Tehran on Tuesday, in reaction to anti-Iran accusations made by François Delattre, the Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations’ HQ in New York.
The Iranian diplomat stressed that according to numerous reports of the UN nuclear watchdog — the International Atomic Energy Agency — Iran has been fully committed to the letter of the Iran-Sextet agreement of July 14 but the other side has still way to go. Ghasemi lamented that Iran’s expectations from the westerners have not been fulfilled yet and it is necessary for the westerners to reciprocate implementation of the agreement.
“The words of the French mission to the UN, François Delattre, was far from reality, in a bid to cover up the all-out intervention of France in Syria which has burdened a heavy cost, humanitarian and financial, on Syrians,” contended the spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
