Russia approves implementation of JCPOA by Iran

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov in a meeting with Iranian ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanayee underlined implementation of Iran’s commitments within the framework of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

“Iran has fulfilled its JCPOA commitments,” Ryabkov said during the meeting.

He reiterated that Moscow supports other countries’ undertaking their commitments in the nuclear talks.

The Russian deputy foreign minister also pointed to Russia’s role in helping Iran to implement its JCPOA commitments, and said, “By removal of many obstacles, Tehran-Moscow cooperation in different areas will expand.”

By signing the JCPOA after two years of negotiations between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany), Iran succeeded to get approved the resolution on annulling the unilateral sanctions imposed by the EU, the US and also the UN against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Sanayee, for his part, described Russia’s role in cooperation with Iran in implementation of its commitments in relation to implementation of JCPOA as valuable and constructive.

“By removal of many obstacles, cooperation between Tehran and Moscow is different areas is expanding,” he added.
