Iranian President vows to uproot corruption in Iran economic systems
President Hassan Rouhani on Monday vowed to fight corruption in administrative and economic systems in the country.
In a statement addressed to the nation on Monday, he reacted to the reports on extravagant payments to some ranking officials and said he had no special allegiance with anybody and will fight to uproot corruption in the administrative and economic systems.
He also ordered all sectors to act quickly to compile a bill to amend the legal apparatus of payments after removal of legal shortcomings and urged all organizations and bodies to offer to the public the maximum and minimum of payments made to ranking officials both in military and civilian sectors.
He said the disclosure of non-conventional and unfair payments made to some managers has hurt the feelings of the nation.
The issue is particularly sensitive for me because, regardless of its nature, scale and background, it could adversely affect the grave bounds between the government and the nation and even influence the depth of the relationship the two enjoy, the president said.
That is why, he continued, he assigned a special committee chaired by First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri to investigate the roots and causes of the corrupt behaviors, take necessary measures to reclaim the paid money to corrupt managers and sack them and ultimately make necessary decisions to amend and revise existing administrative rules and regulations.
He went on to appreciate the proper reaction to the issue of extravagant payments by the public opinion and said the free expression of public opinion through cyber outlets is an invaluable asset which should be safeguarded.
