Iran slams Arab League chief remarks
Iran called the recent remarks of the Arab League (AL) new Secretary General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit ‘hasty and counter-productive’.
“I recommend Mr. secretary general to further investigate past record of the Arab League and avoid laying blames on other sides when it comes to problems of the region and the Islamic World,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi.
He continued that the AL has supported military invasion of an Arab country against another Arab country and has backed aggression and fratricide whereas it should have helped peaceful settlement of crises among its members based on its charter.
Qassemi said repeating unfounded positions would not change realities of the region, and the Islamic Ummah needs to focus on the common danger of the Islamic World, which are occupying Zionists and Takfiri-terrorist groups.
