Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei urged people of literature and poets to try and illuminate public opinion on the US treason against the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (nuclear deal).

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks during a meeting with a number of poets and veteran literary people from Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan and India on Monday night.

He described poets as the invaluable assets of the nation and stressed the need for them to compose verses which would be dynamic and timely while offering views on the main issues and needs of the country.

He said a war of a different substance is currently going on against the country which is soft and fought in political and cultural fronts.

In this struggle, the Leader stressed, poem should be used as an effective instrument in fulfilling responsibilities.

As for the treacherous behavior of the US towards the JCPOA, Ayatollah Khamenei said that in addition to political experts and commentators, artists and literary people, especially poets, should focus on explaining the realities to the public opinion.
