President: Only parliament authorized to check deputies’ credentials
President Hassan Rouhani said that upon country's Constitution, credentials of each new deputy should be considered in parliament and no other body may interfere in the issue.
He made the remarks in a gathering of Urban and Rural Councils in Tehran on Thursday.
Rouhani said that the second round of parliamentary elections will be held on Friday April 29 in 65 constituencies to elect remaining 68 deputies for the 10th parliament.
He said that all should abide by the laws; the Constitution and the regulations which have ratified by the country.
This kind of behavior, which is encouraged by Islam, could be a source of pride for the nation, he added.
These councils are an honor for the country, too, because they reflect the public's points of view and convey them to the administration which means the whole people are participating in administration process.
Democracy is our pride and following the collective wisdom and high public participation in the scene, including elections, is an indication of it, the President added.
He said the Almighty has guided his Great Prophet to 'Consult in affairs' , which is a big lesson for all Muslims.
