Zarif:
Germany Effective for Regional Security
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif in Tehran on Saturday described Tehran-Berlin ties as cordial and exemplary, saying Germany will play a good role in bringing security to the region.
Zarif made the remarks at a joint press briefing with his visiting German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
"Tehran-Berlin relations are long-lasting based on mutual respect and interests," said Zarif.
Also, the private sectors in two countries can act as a motor to develop bilateral cooperation, said Zarif.
On regional issues, Zarif stressed that we shouldn`t forget about Saudi Arabia, and added that the terrorist groups will benefit no one.
Zarif announced that Iran is ready to cooperate with all in the issue of Syria.
We believe that Syrian people, themselves, should choose their destiny, stressed Zarif.
On Daesh, he said fight with the terrorist group of Daesh (ISIS) should not only be military but also all-out in order to uproot their financial resources.
Commenting on Tehran-Berlin ties, Zarif said Iran wants serious cooperation with Germany in the regional issues, adding Tehran welcomes more active presence of Berlin in the region.
Prior to the joint press conference, Zarif and Steinmeier held a meeting and conferred on the international, regional and bilateral questions.
