FM Spox: Iran summons Australian envoy
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani said that the Australian ambassador was summoned to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and received the necessary warnings.
Kanaani made the remarks in reaction to the Australian prime minister’s remarks regarding internal developments in Iran.
It seems that the Australian prime minister has adopted a wrong approach based on false information, which does not help the bilateral relations, he said.
We are ready in Tehran and Canberra to provide the Australian government with the correct narrative away from media hype regarding the developments in Iran, he added
He stressed that mutual respect and reliance on facts is the best way to prevent confusion in diplomacy.
Australia has a challenging dossier of human rights, ranging from killing asylum seekers to keeping 500 aborigines in prisons and prohibiting professional research in these cases, and lacks the least moral legitimacy for preaching to others about human rights.
He also described sheltering terrorist and separatist groups by the Australian government and its silence against the brutal terrorist attack on Shahcheragh Holy Shrine as a sign of double standards towards human rights.
