Iran FM discusses bilateral ties with Syrian lawmaker
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Tuesday received the Syrian deputy head of the Iran-Syria Parliamentary Friendship Group and exchanged views with her and her accompanying delegation.
Haifa Jumaa, who is visiting Iran atop a parliamentary delegation as the guest of the Iranian Parliament on Tuesday evening had a meeting with the Iranian foreign minister.
The Iranian foreign minister in the meeting praised the grandeur of the resistance front martyrs, particularly Martyr Soleimani, who dedicated their lives to campaign against ISIS terrorists.
Amirabdollahian also referred to the exalted status of the two countries' parliaments and their role in further broadening of mutual cooperation, especially in the economic field, emphasizing that there are broad unused potentials for the purpose.
The Syrian deputy head of Iran-Syria Parliamentary Friendship Group, too, in the meeting referred to the two countries strategic relations and appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for the Syrian nation in its campaign against terrorism and extremism.
She said that the name and memory of Martyr Soleimani is still alive in the hearts and minds of the Syrian nation.
