Iran-U.S. cooperation will change regional equations: Professor
A professor at Georgetown University has said that the recent wave of unrest in Iran has impinged on the way of thinking among foreign politicians.
Shirin Hunter said that the U.S. wants to solve the issue of Iran’s nuclear case by reviving the JCPOA but they also want to solve it according to Washington’s interests.
She said in an exclusive interview with ILNA that “I think that the U.S. isn’t in a rush to do that.”
The recent protests in Iran have shaped this opinion among most foreign politicians that Iran’s government will face problems or be ready to give more concessions with the continuation of unrest.
The U.S. and the European countries want to increase the pressure on Iran to force Tehran into revising its policies toward the nuclear talks and regional issues, she noted.
If Iran is willing to cooperate with the U.S. and change its position toward some regional issues, the equation will change in the region, she said, adding that it doesn’t seem that Iran is ready to revise its positions and policies.
