Iran pursuing economic benefits and guarantees in talks: MP
The spokesman for the parliament's national security and foreign policy committee has said that the Islamic Republic of Iran will consider the EU proposal carefully if that leads to the strengthening of Iran economically benefiting from the revival of the JCPOA.
Abolfazl Amouei said in an exclusive interview with ILNA that Iran’s officials and the negotiating team have studied the proposal and they prepared a response.
He referred to the recent proposal put forth by the EU foreign policy chief on resuming the JCPOA revival talks.
Certainly, the Islamic Republic of Iran will consider the EU proposal carefully if that leads to the strengthening of Iran economically benefiting from the revival of the JCPOA, he said.
The lawmaker said that we have other demands that should be considered, adding, “The first is the issue of strengthening the guarantees to preserve the agreement because Iran doesn’t want an unstable deal”.
He emphasized that the other demand is the removal of the sanctions that as a basic approach, the government and the parliament are pursuing.
Our demand is to remove sanctions that are an obstacle to the economic benefits of the Iranian people and the development of our country's foreign trade, he noted.
