Iran is guarantor of continued stability in region: former ambassador
The Arab world has adopted a new view toward realities in which Iran has a special status, the former Iranian ambassador to Lebanon has said.
The disbelievers front has concluded that the Resistance front and the Islamic Republic of Iran are the guarantors of this continued stability, Ahmad Dastmalchiyan said in remarks to ILNA.
Given the successive failures of the U.S. in the region, the region has suffered from a lack of strategic balance, he said, adding that given the significant status that Iran has in the region, good and constructive negotiations can take place between Iran and the Arab countries of the region "to turn this vacuum of hegemon's presence into a constructive and positive presence,” he noted.
In such a framework, Iran and Saudi Arabia started their negotiations and now after five rounds, it is going to be promoted to the political level, he added.
He emphasized that Iran has always welcomed having a good and constructive relationship with the countries of the region, especially its southern neighbors.
