Tehran not to distance from logic of negotiation: Iran FM
Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian has underscored that the Islamic Republic will not distance itself from the logic of negotiation and diplomacy while pursuing the most honorable path to reach an agreement.
In a video message to Iranian and foreign audiences of the seminar of Kordestan, the symbol of materializing unity of the Islamic Ummah and the coexistence of ethnicities and religions on Wednesday, the foreign minister said that the United States emphasizes that they cannot accept anything other than the context of the negotiations for the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal, but the Raisi administration will endeavor to guarantee full economic benefits of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
The Islamic Republic has been and is the most complying signatory to the JCPOA, he said, adding that Tehran welcomes a good, powerful and sustainable agreement, which secures the lifting of anti-Iran sanctions through diplomacy, and that the Iranians will never close the window of diplomacy.
The US is expected to pursue a realistic approach in order to pave the way for reaching an agreement on the revival of the JCPOA, the top diplomat said.
As to the seminar in Sanandaj, capital of Kordestan Province, Amirabdollahian said that the late Imam Khomeini and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei have always emphasized on the need for unity between Shia and Sunni followers.
He further noted that holding the seminar in Kordestan is of great importance to help Muslim nations in the stormy world, which is suffering from different problems.
The enemies of the Islamic nations hatch plots to target solidarity and unity in the region and the world, the foreign minister said, adding that the normalization of ties with the fake Zionist regime is another kind of conspiracy, carried out by a few Arab states, warning that such moves are blatant treason against the Palestinian cause.
Iran’s Supreme Leader underscored the importance of a political solution for the issue of Palestine, so the diplomacy apparatus in the Islamic Republic has proposed a democratic strategy to the United Nations, which is holding a referendum among all Palestinian people of any religion.
Referring to peace and security in the region, he said that Iran emphasizes a diplomatic solution in the Russia-Ukraine war, promotes formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan, and urges prevention of a new war between Syria and Turkey.
The seminar on Kordestan, the symbol of materializing unity of the Islamic Ummah and the coexistence of ethnicities and religions is being held at Imam Ali (PBUH) camp in Sanandaj with 400 participants, including about 80 foreigners.
