Iran, Iraq review process of Tehran-Riyadh talks
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a phone call with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein discussed the process of negotiations between Tehran and Riyadh.
The two sides discussed some issues of common concern in the field of bilateral relations as well as some regional issues, including the process of talks between Tehran and Riyadh.
Appreciating the effort and constructive role of Iraq in the formation of regional dialogues in order to strengthen stability, security, and development in the region, Amir Abdollahian emphasized Iran’s readiness to continue to exchange ideas with its Iraqi counterpart in order to pursue issues of mutual interest in bilateral and regional dimensions.
Meanwhile, Fuad Hussein referred to the presence of Iraq in the recent meeting in Jeddah and shared his assessment of this meeting with his Iranian counterpart.
He stated that the Iraqi government has conducted consultations necessary for regional cooperation at the Jeddah summit, and will continue its efforts to strengthen peace and stability in the region.
