Negotiation is the only option for Iran, U.S.: Expert
Iran believes that it is easy for the U.S. to return to the Iran deal, Just as Donald Trump signed a paper and withdrew the U.S. from the deal, Biden also can sign the paper and get back to the JCPOA, the expert on international relations said.
Amirali Abolfath said in an exclusive interview with ILNA that the West, including the U.S., the EU, and the three European countries, are trying to portray Iran as the obstacle to reaching a deal in the Qatar talks.
"On the contrary, Iran has emphasized that the West was the main reason for the failure of the Doha talks," he continued.
He pointed out that it is normal that the two sides blame each other given that the negotiations on the revival of the JCPOA have ended without any result.
The U.S should remove the sanctions and send a message to the world that if Iran implements its commitments it can benefit from the JCPOA economic advantages, he added.
He pointed out that as long as Iran’s economic benefits from the JCPOA are not guaranteed and confirmed there is no reason for Iran’s return to the deal.
Iran believes that it is easy for the U.S. to show the will and return to the Iran deal. Just as Donald Trump signed a paper and withdrew the U.S. from the deal, Biden also can sign the paper and return to the JCPOA, he noted.
If Iran talks fail, they must negotiate again, he said, adding, “Because there is no such thing as plan B other than negotiations. Neither Iran nor the Americans have any option but to negotiate.”
