Nuclear talks lost momentum: Expert

An expert on diplomatic relations has said that Iran and the U.S. no longer have any motivation to follow the nuclear talks over reviving the JCPOA.
As for the Europeans, the desirability of negotiations has increased due to rising energy prices, which is why Borrell has stepped up his initiative, especially under pressure from France. But the Americans see no reason to go soft on Iran, Sasan Karimi told ILNA.
On the other hand, Iran is the same; In other words, it seems that the economic incentives for reviving the JCPOA have been overshadowed by Iran's distrust of the outcome of these negotiations and that has diminished Iran's motivation, he added.
He also said that as we have heard over the past three days, Iran has softened its call for the IRGC to be removed from the blacklist, but it has demanded economic guarantees that the Americans don’t accepted.
He emphasized that it’s unlikely that the U.S. shows flexibility in the negotiations and so far we have witnessed flexibility on the part of Iran.
Economically, it’s unlikely that Iran will retreat, and it’s unlikely that the other side will offer anything as a guarantee, he said.
