Riyadh seeking countries' coordination to confront Iran: Expert
An expert on the Middle East has said that Iran is one of the main issues that will be raised in the upcoming MBS visits to the region's countries.
Mohammad Bin Salman's upcoming visits to Turkey and other countries aim to break regional isolation and prepare Bin Salman for becoming king, Reza Mirabian told ILNA.
Naturally, Iran is one of the important issues that is on the agenda of the upcoming visit of MBS to region's countries, he said, adding, “Riyadh is trying to coordinate the countries of the region with its stance toward Tehran.”
In fact, the Saudis want to mobilize public opinion and the countries' stances against Iran, he added.
He also said that despite bilateral negotiations between Iran and Saudi Arabia have been started but the Saudis are still emphasizing their stands toward Iran in talks with other countries.
Another issue is the coordination of region's countries for a kind of confrontation with Iran, he said, adding that the issue of “Arab NATO” is most probably on the agenda of Riyadh summit, the expert noted.
The members of yhe GCC, Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq will participate in the Riyadh summit that is supposed to be held during the U.S. president's trip to the region.
