FM: Iran keen on maintaining security in region
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is after maintaining security and progress for its neighbors and the region, and considers the intervention and presence of foreigners to be detrimental to the security of the region.
Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a phone call with his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Referring to the priorities of the neighbors in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he stressed increasing bilateral consultations between the officials.
He described the presence of the Zionist regime in the region as causing instability and insecurity and as terror and sabotage in the region.
Meanwhile, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan pointed to the mutual interests of the two countries in developing relations and welcomed the regular consultations between the Iranian and Emirati officials.
He stressed that the UAE will not allow any destructive actions from its territory against the neighboring countries and will always consider the security of its neighbors.
