U.S. must make political decision on JCPOA: Ex-diplomat

A former diplomat has said that Washington must make a political decision and it should ease the U.S. way back to the JCPOA.
Mohsen Pakaien said in an exclusive interview with ILNA that Raisi's trips to different countries so far have been mainly to neighboring countries, adding that “these trips show that Strengthening relationships with neighboring countries is a strategic principle in Iranian foreign policy.”
Responding to a question about the effects of this trip on the Vienna talks that have hit a deadlock, he said that Oman at different times has tried to get Iran closer to some western countries and also tried to solve disputes.
I don’t believe that there is a deadlock in the Vienna talks but the negative approach of the United States has caused the negotiations to proceed slowly, he added.
“We believe that Washington must make a political decision,” he said, adding that it should ease the U.S. way back to the JCPOA.
