UAE should appreciates Iran’s friendship hand: Ex-Iranian diplomat
A former Iranian diplomat has said that Tehran hopes that the UAE will appreciate Iran’s friendship hand extended to this country despite past events.
Ahmad Dastmalchian said in remarks to ILNA that the Persian Gulf region’s countries led by Saudi Arabia always have rejected Iran’s friendship hand extended to them.
Commenting on the recent visit to the United Arab Emirate by Iran’s foreign minister and the two countries' landscape of the relations, he said that Iran always has put its foreign policy priority on its neighbors especially Arab countries.
Considering that creating a one-way relationship isn’t possible, as a result, we couldn’t develop bilateral relations with the Persian Gulf region’s countries.
Underlining that the Persian Gulf region’s countries should know that friendship doesn’t mean anything to Israel, he added “that a neighboring country such as the UAE doesn’t pay attention to Iran’s security concerns is unkind.
Because of the neighborhood and fraternity politics, Amir Abdollahian visited Abu Dhabi on Monday to pay respect to the deceased UAE President Khalifa bin Zayed, he noted.
We hope that the UAE should appreciate Iran’s friendship hand extended to this country despite past events.
