An expert on the region has said that Iran’s foreign policy is in a tight spot and until a deal is reached in the Austrian capital, it will continue to be in a tight spot.

Abdolreza Faraji Rad said in remarks to ILNA that “today Iran is under sanctions that led to a decrease in the trade exchanges between Iran and Turkey.”

“On the other hand, Turkey’s economy has been weakened in recent months and the value of the national currency of Turkey has been decreased. Today Erdoğan has started to improve this situation,” he added.

He said the Turkish president has started to mend fences in the region to attract more capital, adding that “he tried to enter the process of de-escalation with the United Arab Emirates first and then with Israel and Saudi Arabia.”

“By delaying his trip to Tehran, Erdoğan is signaling to Saudi Arabia that our priority is Riyadh,” he added.

He said that these issues have shown that our foreign policy is in a tight spot and until a deal is reached in Vienna, this tight spot will continue.
