A member of the Iranian parliament’s presiding board has hailed the stance of the country’s negotiating team in the Vienna talks for the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal.

Alireza Salimi told IRNA on Saturday that the Iranian team has met all the red lines, making the West stop its excessive demands.

He said that the West, including the US, has even reached a deadlock as the Iranian team is insisting on upholding the rights of the Iranian people.

The Iranian nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was thrown into disarray in May 2018 when the US withdrew from it and reinstated sanctions on Iran.

Tehran and the remaining parties began talks to revive the accord in April last year.

Iran says the US should verifiably remove all those sanctions and give guarantees that it will not abandon the deal again.
