FM: Iran is after political solution to Ukrainian crisis
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a phone call with his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó rejected the war and sanctions, saying that Iran is after a political solution in Ukraine.
Congratulating the ruling Fidesz party on its victory in the Hungarian parliamentary elections, he offered Iran’s readiness to develop relations with Hungary and to implement the agreements of the second joint economic commission in various fields.
Elaborating on Vienna Talks developments, he said Significant progress has been made in the negotiations following Iran's initiatives, but there are still some important issues between Iran and the US that are being exchanged through the EU's chief negotiator.
He stressed Iran’s seriousness in reaching a good and lasting agreement if the US takes a realistic approach.
Amir Abdollahian appreciated his Hungarian counterpart for his humanitarian assistance to facilitate the transfer of Iranians living in Ukraine through Hungary to Iran.
Meanwhile, Szijjártó stressed that within the framework of the Hungarian government’s foreign policy, it is committed to developing bilateral cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He emphasized the implementation of the agreements between Iran and Hungary.
He hopes for all parties in the Vienna Talks to reach a constructive approach.
He lauded Iran's constructive approach in line with reaching a final agreement.
