FM: Iran ready for good, lasting agreement
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said Iran is ready for a good and lasting agreement, but the US, with its excessive demands, has been directly responsible for prolonging the negotiations so far.
Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a phone call with his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr Albusaidi.
He congratulated the Omani counterpart, government and people on the holy month of Ramadan, hoped that the ceasefire in Yemen will remain stable, and appreciated Oman’s constructive role in this regard.
What is important now is the complete lifting of the humanitarian siege in parallel with the continuation of the ceasefire, he added.
It is also very important now to send humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people, he noted.
Regarding the Vienna talks, he criticized re-imposition of US sanctions against some Iranian individuals and companies, IRNA reported.
Meanwhile, Albusaidi congratulated the Iranian government and people on the holy month of Ramadan, and welcomed ceasefire in Yemen.
He praised Iran for its role and efforts in this regard, and expressed hope that this issue would pave the ground for negotiations between all Yemeni parties and reopening the country's borders.
