Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian stated that war is no solution to crises anywhere in the world including in Ukraine or the Vienna talks about Iran's nuclear program.

He made the remark in a phone conversation with his Polish counterpart Zbigniew Rao on Friday when he also discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.

He expressed gratitude to the Polish government for assisting Ukraine refugees as well as Iranian nationals living in Ukraine to return home.

Referring to the historical background of relations between the two countries especially Iran's assistance to the Polish war refugees during World War II, the Polish Foreign Minister noted that 1400 Iranian nationals have so far crossed into Poland from Ukrainian.

Amirabdollahian said friendly and positive attitudes between the two nations nourished the long-standing bilateral relations and, referring to the situation in Ukraine stressed the need for working out political solutions for conflict in Ukraine.

He said it was Iran's principle in foreign policy not to apply double standards and stressed that Iran always condemned war in Ukraine, Yemen, Afghanistan or anywhere in the world.

Rao believed the stablishment of a humanitarian corridor for transfer of women and children as well as providing food and medical assistance to displaced persons in Ukraine was a basid need.
