According to public relations office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amirabdollahian made the remarks in a phone call with Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, when they held talks about the latest developments in the negotiations in Vienna, Austria, to lift anti-Iran sanctions.

Borrell stated that most demands made by the Islamic Republic have been mentioned in the future agreement.

He said that the negotiations are on progress track to reach final result, the European official added.

Iran’s FM expressed gratitude for the efforts made by the high representative of the European Union, saying that Tehran is ready to finalize a good and immediate agreement.

However, Amirabdollahian warned that the hasty attitude of the West cannot hinder Iran from observing it's redlines.

The Islamic Republic welcomes finalization of a consensus as soon as possible, but full observation of Iranian redlines such as “effective economic assurance” is necessary for foreign ministers’ presence in Vienna to be able to announce finalization of the deal, he argued.

Iran’s top nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani and his entourage continue constant consultations with all delegations present in Vienna, he said, adding that the Iranian delegation pursues the negotiations seriously to reach a good agreement.

Amirabdollahian expressed readiness to participate in the Vienna Talks as soon as the Western sides accept remaining declared redlines.

Representatives from Iran and the P4+1 group kicked off the eighth round of the Joint Commission meetings of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in Vienna on December 27, 2021.
